C2C Blanket for a fairy!!

Today I am using an Aran weight yarn in Self Patterning Rainbow If you knit, it makes small flower like shapes but I love how it looks in different stitches, I have done this in a Large Granny Square Blanket too.
I am using a J/6mm hook for this blanket,

Start with a slip knot and a chain of 6,

In the 3rd chain work a DC (uk tr)

Then a DC in the second,

And again in the first, (this is how you will start every row on the increase)

You now have what I will call a 'Tab' of a ch3 space and 3 DC

Again, do your ch 6 and a DC in the 3rd ch

DC in 2nd

DC in the 1st (you get the idea now I am sure)

This is your starting tab and the first on the increase row.

You will be slip stitching into the ch 3 space of tab below, to do this......

Flip the bottom tab up to the other one.......

Insert hook into space.....

Slip stitch to secure........

You now ch3 into the space.....

And work 3 DC into space....

You now have 2 tabs on row 2....now we increase again by.....

Ch 6 and work 3 DC as before....

Flip tabs up to latest stitch.....

Slip stitch into ch space and work 3 DC as before....

Sl St into Ch Sp again...

Work 3 DC again....now we are at the end of the row so we......

Repeat as before, ch 6 3DC and work along row as before.

Carry on in the same way until you have the desired length, (I am doing a teeny square to show the decrease)

Instead of ch 6 at this point, I like to ch 1 and turn, you will now Slip stitch into the stitches you have just made,

Then sl st into ch3 space and work as before (ch3, 3 DC)

You can see a good corner forming now...continue to the end of the row...

SlSt into ch 3 space....and stop!

Ch 1 Turn...

Slip stitch across....

Ch 3 and work as normal

At the ned of row, again stop, ch1 turn and SL ST across

into last ch3 space, ch3, 3 DC

This is your last tab so Sl St into ch3 space

And you are finished....I slip stitch across a few stitches and finish yarn however you usually do, weave in any tails or if you are putting a border on, just work over the tails at the same time.
